Drafts, saved invoices, backups and downloads

My draft is not in Saved invoices

Autosave keeps the working draft separately. Reopen the editor to continue it, then choose Save to library (inside More on mobile). Changes made after saving remain in the draft until you save to the library again.

Download PDF is disabled

Add a business or sender name, a client name and at least one described item with a positive quantity and rate. Correct any amount errors. Tap the missing-information prompt beside the mobile download action, or in the desktop footer, to open the relevant field.

Missing records or a session-only warning

Use the same website, browser and profile where you created the invoice. Private browsing, storage cleanup, preview-site addresses and different devices can have separate records. Do not clear browser data as a first troubleshooting step. A session-only record may disappear on reload or when the tab closes; download a backup or PDF before leaving.

Back up or move to another device

  1. Save the current draft to the library if you want it included.
  2. Open Saved invoices and select Download backup.
  3. Keep the JSON file somewhere you control.
  4. In the target browser, open Saved invoices → Import backup and choose that file.

Export CSV is useful for spreadsheets, but CSV cannot restore the invoice library. If you have no backup and browser storage has been cleared, CatInvoice has no cloud copy to recover.

I removed an item or want a new invoice

Before leaving the editor, use More → Undo removed item to restore a removed row while keeping later edits. This undo history does not survive a reload. More → New invoice replaces the current draft after confirmation; saved records remain in the library.

Print or PDF issues

Choose Download PDF or More → Print invoice. Check long descriptions and notes in the exported file. If PDF export fails, try the Print invoice action. A print notification means the browser dialog opened, not that a physical page printed.

I still see the old controls

Save your work and download a backup before refreshing the page. In CatInvoice 2, Print invoice and Open email draft are under More. Mobile has separate Edit and Preview views. Tabby and document extraction remain retired.
