Invoice generator FAQ: PDFs, saving and privacy

Yes. You can create, save, print, and download invoices without a paid plan or trial.

No. CatInvoice opens directly to the editor. There is no account-based cloud invoice library.

Drafts, saved invoices, reusable clients, and reusable line items are stored locally in the browser on your device. They are not automatically synced to CatInvoice servers.

Save your current draft to the library first. In Saved invoices, choose Download backup for JSON, then use Import backup to restore it in another supported browser. Export CSV is a spreadsheet summary, not a restore file.

It means durable browser storage is unavailable. Session-only records can disappear on reload or when the tab closes. Save your current draft to the library and download a JSON backup, or download its PDF, before leaving.

Add your business or name, a client name, and at least one described line item with a quantity and rate greater than zero.

Yes. A row can have a zero value, but the invoice still needs at least one real priced row before it can be saved, printed, or exported.

Yes. It blocks negative quantities, rates, tax, discounts, shipping, and payments. It also prevents discounts or payments from exceeding the amounts they apply to.

The editor includes a broad list of currencies. Symbols and decimal places follow the selected currency, including currencies with zero or three fractional digits.

After invoices are saved, client and line-item suggestions can appear when you focus or type in the matching fields. Selecting a suggestion fills its stored details for review.

Yes. Duplicate creates a fresh copy with a new ID, the next invoice number, today’s date, Draft status, and no recorded payment.

Yes. Choose an invoice template, add your logo and business details, and include optional dates, addresses, notes, terms, payment instructions, and a payment watermark.

Choose Download PDF for an A4 file or More → Print invoice for the browser print dialog. On mobile, Fit and 100% change only the preview zoom. Review the exported PDF before sending it.

No. It can open your email app with a prepared message, but you download and attach the PDF yourself. CatInvoice does not send client email from its servers.

Not through CatInvoice. It is a local-first, single-browser tool without team accounts, shared cloud records, permissions, or approval workflows.

No. CatInvoice makes and organizes invoices. It does not provide bookkeeping, expenses, bank reconciliation, payroll, tax filing, recurring billing, or payment processing.

No. The editor keeps one working draft automatically. Save to library keeps a separate record in Saved invoices. After editing a saved invoice, choose Save to library again to update that record.

Choose More → New invoice in the editor. You will be asked before replacing the draft. Saved invoices also asks before New invoice replaces a draft. More → Undo removed item restores a removed row without reverting later edits; it is not a general undo for field changes.

Print invoice and Open email draft are inside More. On mobile, Save to library is there too. Download backup, Import backup and Export CSV are on the Saved invoices screen.

Yes. On mobile, enter details in Edit and switch to Preview to review them. Fit shows the page overview; 100% lets you scroll across details. Return to Edit to change values. Save to library is inside More.
